The summers are so short, and the fall is so beautiful! We have taken a ton of great photo’s, and will load them on the web site once I have time.
We had two groups in for archery this fall. The first was from Pittsburg, PA. Only one experience hunter in the group. The second group was from Indiana, and were all experienced. The Elk were silent the whole hunt, as the rut has still not started. While both groups were in the elk, they were not able to call them in close enough for a clean kill. One team did say when they got up from their still hunting spot to walk off, two elk jumped up within 15 feet of them! Both species got startled!
First rifle opens this weekend, and should be good hunting. We have gotten some sticking snow up behind us, with much cooler weather. This should get the rut started good.
Joey’s football is going good. Rodeo has to talk a back seat for awhile!
I just had my third round of spinal injections this week. The doctor keeps talking about a surgery to repair damage done for the injuries this summer. I keep telling him NO! My two fingers bother me as bad as my back, as my R. thumb and index finger had the ligaments tore. These are key to roping the livestock for treating sickness. So far the neighbor has done a much better job of keeping their dogs in their yard and on a chain.
The mission now is to cut the winter supply of firewood. This always gets put off until we are freezing! We usually get some friends to help, and can do it in a couple of good days.
Gotta go for now;
