Fair is over;

This is the highlight of any ranchers summer. Joey’s steer place well, but the exhibitor behind him let his steer loose in the show ring several times, creating a wreck. This made it hard for Joey to represent his animal well. His second steer place second in the market class, making him eligible for the Championship drive if things worked right.

We wont know how his steers did in the Routt County Raised class for some time. They changed the way they are doing that this year. I think carcass is going to be evaluated first.

His buyers were not diligent to show up to the sale, so we had some very anxious few hours on the phone at the last minute. Our thanks to TIC, a local firm for purchasing his steer at the sale. Another thanks to Jay Gozza, and Ken and Johnnie Manchec for purchasing his private treaty steer. Also a thank you to Agland Inc for adding an incentive at the sale!

Now we get to start haying full speed, although football practice is stealing my best helper!
